Juneteenth has been celebrated since 1966, when Texas freedmen organized the first “Jubilee Day” on June 19th. Even though the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in January 1863, slaves were not set free until June 1865. Today, we celebrate Juneteenth to commemorate African American freedom and emphasize education and achievement. Today, $1 from every beer sold will be donated to Brewing Change Collaborative and we have a special Father’s Day beer release, Not a Tie – Spicy Pickle Cream Ale, available on tap or in crowlers to go.
