We will be out serving samples today at the 9th Annual Pride Beer Dabbler at Minneapolis Sculpture Garden! For this years Pride Dabbler, we chose to highlight a forgotten about historical movement, the Gene Compton’s Cafeteria Riots.

Three years before Stonewall, Compton’s Cafeteria riots was a heroic act of trans resistance. In 1966, a group of trans women stood up to police inside Gene Comptons Cafeteria, which was a popular queer gathering spot, after being regularly subjected to harassment police. This sparked an unprecedented moment of trans resistance to police violence.

Many of the records have ‘disappeared’ from the Compton’s Cafeteria riots, but that does not make it any less important.

Join us as we travel back to the 1920’s for this prohibition themed night. The night will include live music from Squid City Slingers, a Burlesque performance from Petty Treason Productions and prohibition style cocktails. The performance will be held in our private B-Side Lounge, space is limited and tickets are required.

We will have cocktails, beer, seltzer, THC seltzer and non-alcoholics available for purchase. Outside food is welcome. This event is 21+.
